I was once a Guinea pig for a a/the clinical trial of Adderall in timed-release patch form, back around '06-'07 and hooooBOI lemme tell ya does $75 a week do a helluva lot in the 7th grade....the early exposure and resultant affinity for amphetamines and stimulants of any derivative.....ehhhh maybe not the best side effect of adolescent neurochemical skullfuckery, maybe the lab should thought of that and not allowed pubescent youth be viable candidates, but hey....here we are

So... were you not already on, or potentially going to be put on, some form of stimulant like adderall or ritilin or so forth at the time? Just wondering, since it seems odd you'd have been put on a study like that if your guardians and whatever doctor/psychologist they were taking you to didn't agree on trying one of them out. Or if you weren't already on something, and one or both of the above were hesitant to try the normal form of the substance, but the first substance was having bad ticks or side effects so "why not test it out since they are still young" or some such.
