Your post got me thinking, what is the most "newb friendly" party? I'm used to 2nd and 3.5 so I'm still learning some of the 5E rules too. Maybe a Half-Orc Barbarian (main), Cleric, Wizard, and Rogue, no multiclassing? Or maybe have your main be an Elf fighter or ranger focusing on archery?
