That's not a conspiracy, that's how hypothesis testing works: To test whether or not there's a significant enough difference in the observed data to infer that there's some kind of causal element creating that difference, you compare your experimental results to what you would expect if there were nothing going on (the null hypothesis). The gender distribution in the overall population is close enough to 50/50 that that is what would be expected if there were no gender difference in sex abuse rates. Yellow posted... Also I'm not going to be gaslit into thinking that none of you were arguing that it was a 50/50 split. You're welcome to quote where one of us did that.
