The dragon transformation you got was op as fuck so you had to challenge yourself not to use it for the whole game. If you used it too much you wouldn't have any juice left for the final boss. It made things much more interesting than previous games where the best strategy was to dragon immediately in every fight. It's also got the best story in the series. It's admittedly got a weird interpretation of Nina but she was a great character regardless. The only real bad thing about the game is that there's not enough party members.
