This is Misti. We adopted her when she was 15, after finding her in a courtesy post that a local fostering agency made because her owner had died, his roommates were moving and unable to bring her along, and his family was just going to throw her out on the streets (at 15, an indoor cat, and with no front claws, so she'd be lucky to last a week). We don't know her actual birth date because her vet records were lost when her owner died, but we just call her adoption date her birthday and that means she'll be 20 next Friday. She's old and cranky and hates strangers, but is a real sweetheart once she warms up to people and is specifically in the mood for snuggles. This is Fergus. We adopted him from a shelter two days before we ended up getting Misti (she wasn't exactly planned, but the house she was living in was a shithole and we didn't want to subject her to that any longer), when he was 8. He'll be 13 next week.
