The best database I found for this (during dozens of covid discussions last year), was the NCCSIR annual statistics about US youth football, up to college level. You can find the pdf here: https://nccsir.unc.edu/reports/ Why the best? Because the data goes back for nearly a century (90 years of data!), was originally supposed to analyse deaths caused by injury or trauma, but also includes indirect deaths. As someone who goes crazy about spreadsheets, this is truly a great source for data. Just scroll down to bottom, til you hit "TABLE II. EXERTIONAL/MEDICAL (INDIRECT) FATALITIES INDIRECTLY DUE TO FOOTBALL - 1931-2022 These indirect fatalities also include cardic arrests. So, lets go back again to the original question: Is there actually an uptick though? https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/1/1/2/AAelttAAEsUg.jpg Answer: No ... Copied to Clipboard! |
