That's very reasonable given how much evidence is involved and also the sensitive nature of it. She was bonkers though to even have the trial initially starting this year

A few possible issues with Judge Cannon in this regard that may have caused her to do that:

• She might be the one of the most inexperienced judges in the country and may not understand the complexities involved
• She might be looking to repair her reputation after her ridiculous antics with delaying the criminal investigation on Trump's behalf

I wouldn't be surprised if she's getting a lot of counsel from other judges on how to handle things so she doesn't get kicked off the case.
