I usually err on the side of picking the "iconic" album, especially as someone who doesn't have a huge history with most bands, because I'll end up listening and thinking "where's THAT song". I have no idea what The Pillows are, but I'm thinking Stifled might purposefully be picking less popular albums from all 3 bands. QOTSA is a band that has multiple iconic albums, though; like, Rated R is big enough to also be listed in the top 1000 albums of all time on Acclaimed Music, and is just on the edge of the top 1000 on RYM.
