TopicEating at home is now as expensive if not more than fast food

I used to think that, because I hadn't been out to eat in a while, but I've been venturing out a bit and I'm shocked at home expensive everything is. I spent like $12 for a combo at Taco Bell. I used to be able to get an absurd amount of food for $5.

PowerOats posted...
Ground beef/turkey = 5-6 bucks
Noodles = <4 bucks (can be reused)
Spaghetti Sauce = 4-6 bucks (can be reused)

15ish bucks = 20 mins to prep/ cook, feeds 4, or 1 person 4 times.
I feel like you're overestimating the cost on the noodles and sauce. $1.50 gets a pound of store brand spaghetti. $3 for decent sauce (I'm partial to Newman's Own, myself).

Ground beef is hella expensive though.
