This one is a Newer Sci Fi. But in Picard We learn that the doctor had a kid and hid him from Picard. No matter what Picard life is like their is no excuse to hide him. The excuse was that oh he might be in danger. Be they are literally a drug smugglers and gun runners now. At least this time there was an argument about how horrible it was. But still not good for a character we love to do something so bad.
I know it is an easy way to interduce a kid to character with out making him a deadbeat dad. But so many times, they just leave out how horrible this act is to do to the man and the child.
