Hours worked and productivity are not the same.

Too much time in one day or week and you get worse productivity per worker past a certain point.

If that was true AI and automation that work 24/7 wouldn't boost production significantly. So ultimately this is a job specific issue and generally limited to mostly poorly unoptimized white collar jobs.

Contruction workers probably wouldn't be able to meet their usual strict deadlines if schedules dropped from 5/6 days a week to 4.

Factory jobs wouldn't be able to produce and ship as many goods as they usually do with the time allotted.

Deliverys would slow to a crawl as drivers would have less time overall to transport goods to a X amount of customers over a Y distance.
