There's gotta be a way to word these laws that protects innocent people, while still punishing the actual predators.

Because doing a deep dive on this stuff brings up tons of cases where even minors are charged for sex crimes and it's absolute stupidity. Things like:

How do prosecutors look at something like that and feel that it makes sense?

I remember in like the early 2000s two 14 year olds got charged with the same thing because they had sex with each other.
