To be fair though, most of this discussion is about housing where a majority of people live and are where most jobs are. I believe you live in rural Ohio?

But I will say, I dislike when people talk about "corporations" buying up all the houses, because that is not really the reason for inflated house prices. Sure it's an issue, but it's not the main reason. The main reason is we don't build enough housing, and the reason for that many times is local citizens who block new housing from being made. The like of people who will talk about wanting affordable housing to exist, but will push against new apartment complexes being built in their neighborhood.
Yes I do live in rural Ohio, and while I know why people talk about the inability to buy a house in large urban markets, these aren't the only places people live and houses aren't unattainable everywhere (though people don't want to live in those places like where I live).
And you're right, in bigger markets people buying up all the houses isn't the only problem in this situation.
