Do you take the time to follow this river until you can find a shallow area to walk through or do you build a ladder walkway across the river rocks which is riskier? As the game goes on you get more tools to work with like roads, zip lines, vehicles, and floating carriers. You'll also be able to build things that help you hold more cargo and fight off the enemies instead of just sneaking past them.
