I'm in the minority here, but if you are security or police at an event like this, everything is treated as unpredictable. 99% certain he intended on doing nothing else, but if he gets on one knee, then jumps back up and charges the 3rd baseman while security isnt restraining him because in the moment, he isnt a threat, it becomes a massive problem. People are dumb and unpredictable, there is no way of knowing what someone is going to do in this scenario, even though assumption is logical that he just wanted to propose. That slight chance that he may do something else warrants the fast reaction imo. Don't go on the damn field.
But how is this different than literally restraining anyone else anywhere else? Are humans more predictable outside of a baseball field? Should cops not only be allowed, but encouraged to assault anyone they are apprehending, regardless of the specific situation, because "you never know what will happen next"?
