In the remake Vash leaves the town and then they give up to just ransack the town. They don't even bother to make it related to Vash at all, and it is shown to be something happening all over because of the new plot with Knives. And it's even worse when you look at the entire point of the show: the commentary on pacifism. That, however, would involve a lot more spoilers. Did you finish this one?
