I spent yesterday listening to this week's "Rank the Tracks" three times in a row to get it out of the way early (better album than I thought it'd be, but that's neither here-nor-there I suppose) so I want a light music day after that marathon. ...also I'm quite close to the end of Octopath Traveler 2 and going to selfishly try to finish that rather than get an extra song in. - ========================== Persona 4 -Reincarnation- Specialist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=899kstdMUoQ Estimated Score: 58.74 It's got a nice smooth jazz groove to it. I kinda like it, but it doesn't inspire anything more than generic "that's nice" and "that's Persona 4 dance music, alright" reactions to a point where I can't find anything to say here. I kinda like it and would never be disappointed to hear it, but would be unlikely to seek it out in the future. ========================== - ========================== Blind Guardian - Wheel of Time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCLsqg05boo Estimatd Score: 75.05 I'll admit I didn't have the highest expectations for this track. Epic metal can be rather hit or miss and, as I've mentioned, I don't know much about Wheel of Time other than Rand being one of the most powerful characters in all fiction so I wouldn't be able to properly grasp the lyrics here. Thankfully, I find the song stands well enough on its own, that it's an enjoyable trip even without context. There are definitely two blocks of lyrics that I'm drawn to: Light it binds me Light and darkness, yes yes, quite appealing. I'm not as into the Arabian feeling interlude that divides the song into two halves, though I don't dislike it... it's more a "thing that happens" than something I have a clear reaction to; I also feel the ending feels a bit anticlimactic.
