It's part projection and part unashamed wielding of power. They consider their ideas legitimate and "leftist" ones illegitimate. They have no problem forcing correct beliefs while banning incorrect ones. They don't see any hypocrisy there or feel any shame about it, they think they're doing the right thing. They know what damages their hate bubble and they want to stop it from having a chance to deprogram their kids. They'll do what it takes to make that happen, including creating a theocracy or a fascist state, prosecuting teachers, you name it. And they won't feel the least bit bad about it.
