The scheme worked in the way it was run, with utilizing the RB's when needed and relying on Allen to be the playcaller. After he got damaged, he was not the same. At that point, we needed a different offensive scheme, but didn't have the pieces for it and relied on the old ideas. As for defense, I think what someone said about bad coaching and stellar talent might have some merit.
