Example one, in the anime excel saga when two male characters keep running into each other one said to the other "It's so creepy! It's like we're connected with the pinkie string of fate!" The other character gets mad and says "THAT'S BETWEEN GIRLS AND BOYS IDIOT!" This was when I remember first learning of this cultural phrase in Japan. I looked online and learned all sorts of fun stuff like how they have KFC on Christmas and other lovely dovey holidays and traditions for Japan. Are you saying we need some idiot with a BA in English to plop down and say "Um, no ... change that to 'hit with cupid's arrow.'" It does nothing but destroy an original joke and remove cultural context.
