I know you have heard this before and you get angry, but this viewpoint just isn't true for the vast majority of people.

For simplicity, say there are 5 levels of happiness. You seem to think you are a 1 and a gf would get you to a 5.

The truth is that is might get you to a 2 or 3 if lucky, but that boost likely won't last. And so many guys can tell you this. The most likely scenario is the relationship ends because you are still unhappy and don't respect yourself so how can she respect you?

Now you are at a 1 again. But then you can learn to increase your happiness simply with yourself. If you can just get to a 3, that is probably enough. Then you find the right girlfriend and you can get boosted to a 4 or possibly a 5. And this is more likely to last.

Bottom line: a gf can help one's mood if already in a semi decent place. Otherwise, it is temporary and right back where you started.

In other words, a gf will not solve your problems. You have to do that.
