I'm guessing 32GB is merely a rec for when the game is at its most intense, so you have graphics rendering (RTX possible) + heavy RNG level loading + sound quality + particle and light processing + physics + input latency and stable high frame rate (60-120fps benchmark) all running simultaneously.

Most of the game isn't gonna require that much memory but for those encounters it makes some sense to me anyway. No excuse at that point for horrible optimization tho.

But pc gamers want everything at max settings so theyll complain about how much effort it takes to hit that regardless.
