But the mechanism for that to work needs to be that people essentially just happen upon the product in the store, a product that they were going to buy anyway, and then they might be more likely to choose your brand because it feels slightly more familiar and people confuse that with a "good" signal. Makes no sense in this context, and even in the best of contexts, the actual real world data on whether this works is extremely extremely weak.
