this is why books are dumb the stories never end and no one is held accountable for being lazy in finishing it at least with tv shows and movies theres multiple people involved that rely on the story coming out in a quick enough fashion

If the story is worth watching it will conclude, especially in today's age.
none of this is true at all. this basically boils down to "popularity = quality", and that is so far from being true. plenty of TV shows worth watching don't get concluded, and plenty of shitty shows that only appeal to the lowest common denominator just keep going and going and going, and anyone with any taste at all is just like who tf is still watching this shit. like Grey's Anatomy, or basically any "reality" show.

and this isn't as sharp a divide as you claim between books and shows either. in fact, i'd be willing to bet that on average more book series get concluded than TV shows. it is very difficult to get a book traditionally published, much less a book serie, and agents and publishers tend to go for projects that will likely be a sure thing. the rate of TV show cancellations by contrast is astoundingly high. network TV especially will greenlight shows they KNOW will not last more than a season or maybe two, just to have something to fill a timeslot.
