The convictions are a good sign though I'm surprised you only get 20 years for seditious conspiracy when treason gets you death o.0There is a pretty substantial difference. Seditious conspiracy is specifically when you largely don't actually perform and action against the state (things like inciting rebellion fall into this category) while treason is when you actually levy war or give aid to someone at war with the US. That said the main reason that treason isn't a thing here is because of the run-off and how it would start to actively implicate Republicans of crimes. It has already been a long road to get any relevant charges, throwing that into the mix would probably kill it off entirely. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome?
