From my experience those who find draws "anticlimactic" generally lack an understanding and/or appreciation for the game outside of goals. Not a single English fan would tell you they deserved to win.
Draws being "anticlimactic" and otherwise unacceptable is a very American (and to a lesser extent, Canadian) mindset.

For example, MLB plays extra innings until there's a winner in every game. Hell, there have been games that went so long they suspended play for the night and resumed the next day rather than just calling it a draw. However in Japan and Korea's baseball leagues there's a 12 inning maximum. If it's still tied at the end of 12 innings, it's a draw.

And if you look at sports common outside of North America but rare here, such as cricket, ties are usually seen as fair and acceptable outcomes unless it's like a single-elimination tournament where a winner obviously is required.
