Somehow Palpatine returned and he's got 1000 fully manned star destroyers buried in the ground on some planet that the Google maps directions too can only be acquired when the death star explodes in a such way that a chunk of its ruins lands in a very specific manner that vaguely looks like this outline on a dagger when you hold it at just the right angle and distance away from aforementioned death star ruins

It's important to mention that each of the 1000 star destroyers also have death stars inside of them.

I laughed out loud in the theater when I read 'THE DEAD SPEAK!' in the title crawl. The only enjoyment I got out of the movie was the very first line of written dialogue.

I groaned out loud in the theater at this exact moment and was ready to turn my brain off for the rest. We knew as fans that Palpatine would be coming back because it was in the trailers for the movie. But I was in shock and awe that his big return to the galaxy would literally be off-screen before the movie started.
