Now if a string of (racially motivated) mass murders happen and they all are arrested and do the ok-sign at points of their trials then, yes, it should be taken more seriously. Everybody just seems so willing to give racists and undesirable elements of society control over whatever they latch on to, without fighting them tooth and nail. By acknowledging them trying to seize control of something, you're giving their claims legitimacy. It's like if the entire world started acknowledging the Donbas as part of Russia now.
