NYC is a much different beast.
As someone who lives in Western NY, most people associate NYC with New York. And yea, NYC is a completely different beast from NYS. The biggest problem is despite the ridiculously low housing costs we still have to deal with essentially NYC levels of taxes. Like I don't think unless you live in my area you can comprehend paying $6K a year in taxes on a house that costs less then $150K. But that is just what I am used to.

Anyways... California, Texas, Hawaii.
