$1,000,000.50 is correct, $1.000.000,50 sis wrong.

In language, a period is a full stop and a comma is a partial stop. A decimal point is between whole and partial numbers, which is an actual change. Whereas commas are just used to keep your place, and don't actually change anything mathematically. So the harder stop should be used for the real change.
