Irrelevant. He probably froze in panic and wasn't even sure if the officer was legit. In addition he has every right to evade improper search or detention. He frankly shouldn't be charged even if he punched the officer in the face or the officer was injured by the car.

Also citizens should have broad immunity to criminal or civil liability injury caused in reaction to an officer not following procedure/the law.

Opening their car door like that is stupid as hell. Someone could easily assume someone is trying to carjack them and drive off without even looking at the officer or think the officer is someone impersonating an officer.

The officer should be in prison for life or at least a decade or two and be permanent banned from law enforcement or owning, handling, or selling firearms.
