| Topic | I always find it suspicious when someone refers to their "partner". |

I'm almost 30 and there is definitely something that feels a little odd about using the term girlfriend when I'm this old However, it feels a little odder to refer to her as a partner because of the gender-neutral implications. Some of my colleagues are older people and I thought I'd try saying "partner" once for poops and giggles, and they immediately started with the gay jokes, as I expected they would.
