In the best case scenario it will work like some evolution of Fates system. Skills could be learned only while leveling and gaining SP in a particular class. Changing class lines won't reset your level to 1, but it will reset your SP to 0 maybe. This would allow you to learn your targeted skills and then switch to a new class line to begin picking up skills there, without having to go through the overly tedious Awakening process of starting over from level 1 each time you want to start learning new skills. Also tying the process to SP could make it so that you can learn the skills in whatever order you want, instead of needing to learn them in a pre-determined order. So if you think that Healtouch is useless but you really want Renewal, you can just pay for Renewal without needing to unlock Healtouch first. Heck, even if your Skill Points didn't reset when you changed classes -- this would very likely make the game a lot easier and also allow you to spend as little time as possible in 'bad' classes with 'good skills' -- I'd be interested in seeing a system like that. Sadly, this is all speculation at this point. We really don't know what they're going to do.
