Oh. I also hate the idea of Nvidia's solution to better performance is just to chuck more watts at the problem. Make things better, but make them reasonable and efficient. 600w power draw on a high end video card? No, that's not the solution. You shouldn't have to have a 1200w PSU to make full use of your setup. I have an 850w PSU from Super Flower. That won't even handle a 4080 adequately, when it was perfectly fine for a 1080 and kind of OK for a 3080.

Look at CPUs for instance. High end Alder Lake CPUs draws almost 200w under load. The 5950x draws far less.

AM5 is supposed to be much better about this as well, but cooling may be an issue with how concentrated the die package is on the substrate.
