Ever since they bought ATI, it's become increasingly clear that AMD is a company that understands CPUs and still doesn't really know how to compete in the GPU market. It's their weird side-project purchase that they've got commitment issues with. That's funny because before Ryzen people were saying AMD didn't know how to compete in the CPU market anymore either.
