My belief has become that its impossible to really understand how we look to other people, so my goal is just to please myself with my appearance. If doing that gives other people a chance to see something they find attractive then thats cool too. The thing that ends up happening is I feel like I want to just keep pushing that standard I have for myself and learn more and more techniques. Im still struggling with body image issues tho, like sometimes I just sit right and see this lumpy part of myself and its kinda like, well this whole week is shot.

You call yourself scrubby but I dont really see it that way, you just kinda have a down to earth practical style. If youre happy with it, that should be the important thing.

That's definitely a cooler way to put it lol. It's not like I feel any visceral way about myself when I use words like scrubby. I actually do it in an attempt to see if I can pull terms up with me. Not on any major scale, as I have no reach. But just in the perception of those around me. I never actually know if it's working, but the attempt is fun enough. Maybe it's a power play to try to redefine words in your circles lol. But it's not one that hurts anyone else. They can completely ignore it :p

But yeah, it wouldn't make sense for me to have a lot of nice clothes or to try too much, as 95% of the stuff I do when Im not in my house involves stuff in dirt. And half my clothes in my hamper are stained with the smell of burning wood lol.

Your philosophy is exactly the state of mind Id hope people would end up in from any of advice I stumble through lol. You'll never be able to fully guess what someone else likes. It's much easier to do what you like and let those who like the same thing spot you and be drawn to you. It just creates a way more sustainable foundation over time. You don't wanna do it for someone else and fuck around and let them have the ability to take all the foundation you built with them if they leave. You gotta hold the deed to that foundation yourself. You can let people build onto it, but that's a whole nother conversation and this post os already to big of a rant lol. After 3 paragraphs, it looks too exhausting to read :p
