biden's prior popularity numbers were "unhappy base (because not served) + unhappy opposition (because in office)"

if you literally cannot please the opposition no matter what, the best way to raise your popularity is to serve your base, so the outcome is as expected

The republicans have reached the point where they will call anything other than workers living in company housing and shopping at a company store socialism, so I don't particularly give a fuck about what they have to say.
