No, motion controls have pretty much become a fixture in the industry people just stopped noticing largely because developers actually figured out how to incorporate them properly, unlike online passes which were always a very bad idea.

Also since it is gyro based you dont need to worry about the position of the controller as long as you can move your hands. The gyro controls give you more speed and precision in aiming, personal taste is personal taste but they really are the way to go. Like SHINE says, if you go in without them you are kind of similar to people playing shooters with a controller against keyboard and mouse users.

Not to put you off though! Play the way you want to play. Just know that theyre there for a reason and the dominant choice for a reason as well.
