It can spread by kissing, sharing a drink, sharing a bed with your friend. Right now it is primarily a disease affecting MSM but so was HIV. And thus HIV was allowed to become a global health crisis. Around 500 babies a day get HIV since their mother is infected and doesnt have access to anti-viral meds. And that is considered a low number since it used to be much higher.

Monkeypox isnt as bad as HIV but more must be done. So people know what symptoms to take seriously and testing being available to curb spread.
