A friend of my brother's was the victim of a carjacking in a Walmart parking lot. The attacker had only a hammer as his weapon. The victim was trained in bjj, so he managed to take down the guy and was doing pretty well. Unfortunately, the criminal had his gf there and she picked up the hammer and cooked the dude in the head. The two then stole the car and fled the scene.
His head was bleeding pretty good, but he was conscious and able to call 911 for help. The ambulance rushed him to a hospital asap and he was unable to give his statement to the police in a timely manner. He was essentially told to come down to the station once he was able so that the report could be filed. He was overall pretty good but they kept him over night for observation.
The next day he went down to the station and talked to a detective. He gave all of his info and they filed the report. Immediately afterwards they got a hit in the system. The detective knew where his car was and who stole. The couple had driven a state over and hit a semi truck head on. The truck driver was fine bit the couple died on impact
