One of those most common clues is when one account posts rage bait in the OP, but never posts in the topic again. It's because that account is just the strawman getting set up for another unrelated account to tear it apart. They're just too lazy to bounce between accounts. Some baiters don't make that mistake, but it's funny how often others do.

Impatient people hungry for attention and praise don't always wait for a dragon to slay. Sometimes they build their own. Hell there's been old cartoons poking fun at that trope for decades...and this is the phenomena it's based on.

Agree with this. My post above implies that the people making the hot takes are also willing to debate them. But when I see someone make a topic and not come back, then I know they aren't being sincere.
