The first time he was in the fast lane and I was in the slow lane merging. We both wanted to go into the middle lane. However, I'm ahead of him, so he sees me going into the middle lane with my signals on, but decides to gun through it anyways and go all the way to the merging lane to get off on the next exit a mile down. I pull back into the merging lane and let him through so we don't get in an accident.

This is another thing I encounter often. Instead sometimes I'll have a person behind me, pass me on the left, speed up and then cut me off just to take an exit that they would have been in the correct lane for if they had just stayed where they were. But no, they had to save those .349 seconds and risk an accident. It's completely dumbfounding the things people do on the road. They have no respect for the multi-ton machine that they're controlling. It's like they've never taken a physics course.
