Even if every single firearm was confiscated, for years and years companies were pumping out the "80% lowers" so anyone with basic power tools could make their own firearms easily. The right has their arsenal stockpiled that the gov't doesn't know about and can be deployed at a moment's notice. The left needs to counter this. Depending on cops who may very well side with the right or do nothing (Uvalde) when the time comes is not a viable plan.
