I'm fine with that. I actually feel like there should probably be even more punitive or preventative penalties for people who refuse to get vaccinated. I'm cool with sporting events or other large gatherings requiring people to show proof of vax to enter (with severe criminal penalties for falsifying vaccination cards), with schools requiring kids to have specific vaccines in order to attend (which they've already done for the entirety of my life), or even travel restrictions on the unvaccinated.

As for docking pay specifically, that's potentially even more justified. Assuming the employers are providing health insurance for employees, they may be being forced to pay more for anyone who isn't vaxxed (because insurance companies tend to up rates for obvious health risks). So it might just be a case of them passing the premiums on to the employee because the employee is the one creating the problem in the first place.

People complain about their freedoms, but they forget that freedom of choice goes hand in hand with accepting the consequences of your actions. Everyone today wants all the benefits of life but none of the consequences. Some people need to get smashed really hard in the dick by consequences. Maybe they'd actually wind up being better people for it.

Pretty much. Is there a chance the vaccine will cause problems? Absolutely. Is that chance orders of magnitude lower than that of the same or worse problems being caused by Covid? Also yes. It's a very, easy easy risk analysis that so many people are failing so spectacularly at.

This is basically what I say.

You can complain about the potential side-effects of the vaccine all you want (or even the hypothetical side-effects of the vaccine you're worried about in spite of evidence telling you you're wrong), but considering the potential side-effects of Covid include long-term organ damage and literal death, the potential side-effects of Covid are way more significant than the potential side-effects of any vaccine. And since the vaccine reduces the severity of Covid even in cases where it can't prevent it completely, it makes getting vaccinated the better choice by any rational cost/benefit analysis. So you can kind of shut the hell up, get vaxxed or get fucked.

The whole mess basically boils down to being yet another example of the root cause of most problems in the world - "People are stupid." Which goes hand in hand with my other maxim - "People suck."
