There's a ring genie and a lamp genie, and the Jafar figure poses as Aladdin's uncle to get him to dig out the Cave of Wonders. Uncle Jafar gets the lamp genie, but Aladdin gets the ring genie. Maybe you picked up a public domain retelling of the original Aladdin story with good-but-not-perfect recreations of the Disney designs to avoid copyright. I had an audio CD of that version of the story, as well as an accompanying picture book, when I was really little. --- People say friends don't destroy one another - what do they know about friends?
