I just realized that my total casino winnings is higher than my total paycheck for the one job i had...

I'm literally a more successful gambler than worker.

Back in the day Nevada had restrictions on the payouts for slot machines, with the lower coinage machines having a higher payout return rate. I believe nickle slots had a 97.5% return rate.

This would let anyone who planned things out make money playing nickle slots (while getting free drinks). The trick was to play a slot machine till it paid out, and pay attention to the slots around you while doing so, switching to whichever slot machine was played the most without a big payout over the time you played yours.

With a bit of testing this would lead to somewhere around a $20/hour average payout while playing slots....which was significantly more then most jobs paid back then (min wage was under $10 in CA at that point).

No clue if that still works, I think they have digital slots now that are no longer random etc, and not sure if they still have to pay out 97.5% etc....but it was awesome back then. Sadly I got paid more than that an hour, and it's boring as hell, so I didn't really take advantage, only doing it when we went to vegas to compensate for the money my wife lost lol.
