Shit, when I was a toddler, I could have fun smacking a stick against a tree because it made a cool noise.
I've probably got 3-4 old phones sitting in a cabinet that I haven't used in forever, I would just hand them one of those with the WiFi turned off (and make sure it doesn't know how to connect to my network). Kid can play with it, beat on it, and whatever with it all they like.

No way in hell am I giving them my actual phone no matter how much they cry and scream.
