Yeah, It was a good movie but it falls just out of the range of movies I really liked (starts at 12 or so).

A couple of people brought it up in their write-ups, but the biggest issue here for me was that Pennywise is seemingly incompetent at this job when the script calls for it. He kills Georgie and sewer gang member, but spends the rest of the movie just going BOOGITY BOOGITY BOO and that's it. Like you get to a scene, that scene starts turning weird, Pennywise jump scares one of the kids, and then the kid just runs away from him. You know what can kill a group of ten-year-olds? A guy with a knife. It gets kind of boring after a while, honestly. The movie starts off great but when you get to this rotating series of jump scares I was losing interest. Like I had a nagging sense of "oh man not this again" but not because I was scared but just because I didn't want to see him jumping out as a bat or a gorilla with a baseball bat or test someone hadn't studied for or whatever weirdly specific fear the kid had.

Still, very good movie. Just really could've been better. Still haven't seen the 80's version, but I have read the book and honestly I don't have much of a desire to see the original because I can't imagine its much better.
