But is it compatible with Super Game Boy?
According to a list on Wikipedia - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_Game_Boy_games - it's compatible in the sense that it has a GBC color palette that the Super Game Boy uses. What makes this game the last original Game Boy game is that despite being A) a Game Boy Color game and B) released in 2002, you can stick it into an original Game Boy and play it with monotone colors.

It's like how there was a Game Boy version of Wario Land 2 - the last first-party game developed for the original Game Boy, as a matter of fact - and then there was a Game Boy Color version with a black cartridge and indented header. You could play on the GBC with the GBC color palette, but those new editions of the game were also packaged with the Game Boy color palette and the ability to play them on the original Game Boy.

Putting either game into a Super Game Boy would bring up the GBC color palette.
