For the purposes of traveling, Italy's regions can basically be described as North, Central, South, and Sardegna. North has lots of tourist shit but bad food. Central has Rome / Vatican / really bad food because it's basically catered to tourists. South has great food and beaches but not much for tourists. Sardegna has maggot cheese. Places to check out in the north: Milan, Venice, Florence. Places to check out in Rome: Vatican, colosseum Places to check out in the south: Napoli, Capri, Sorrento, Sicily Places to check out in Sardegna: the exit Literally everything is closed for lunch except restaurants.
